The Making of Lifesize
So I entered my first ever game jam. I was really really excited on saturday morning to see what the Theme was. Less is More. I had no idea what to do. I started brainstorming, and making the art using Pyxel Edit (making art helps me think). I asked my friends and family for ideas, but none of them came up with something really interesting. Then it struck me. What if I made a game about your size depending on the amount of lives you had? It sounded like a cool concept, so I started making a prototype in Unity. After a little bit, I had something a bit functional. But I did not like the way it worked very much, so I changed up the code a little. And it was PERFECT. I started making animations, changing the physics, adding art, and it was turning out really well. I made a few levels, some art for the menus using Proceate, and music. The music was really simple to make. I just threw a bunch of notes around in Garage Band for iOS and it sounded very nice. I integrated it into Unity, and started making Sound Effects using my mouth to make weird sounds. I then implemented them in Unity.
I haved been bombarded with school, homework, and responsibilities, so I haven't been able to progress since Tuesday. I uploaded this unpolished version to have something out for the Jam, though I may put a better version out.
I know there are some glitches and if you want to close the game you must die, so I am working on a pause menu and on fixing the glitches. While I make this, PLEASE don't spam the jump button, you will pass through walls and the Game will kinda break. Thanks to everyone that played this, I hope you enjoyed it and I appreaciate all of you. Cheers, and have a Happy Game Jam.
